The Carrier Sales Manager is responsible for supporting the Carrier Sales Director and Carrier Sales floor ensuring KPI reports are sent, inventory is consolidated, and priority loads are visible.
Day-to-Day Responsibilities
- KPI reports are sent at the beginning and end of each day ensuring reps are starting and ending their day with clean metrics. Currently around 10-15 per region, pivoting throughout the day as needed.
- Provide proper visibility and strategy to loads that are at or exceeding SLA.
- Proactively setting up game plans around business we have contracts with, or Spot buy opportunities we know are coming.
- Ensuring the open board is properly consolidated for the most efficient routes and loads.
- Collaboration with the Customer Ops Team on hot shipments making these visible and communicated to the team.
- Approval of loads that exceed max pays.
- Metrics and performance reviews with carrier sales reps
- Development of carriers and usage of profiles
- EOD reports with daily goals and follow up with performance.
- Providing goals around carrier reps performance monthly, and quarterly
- Manage and set goals for weekend performance.
- Quarterly sessions around, how to sell, seasonal rates, carrier quality, max pays, TIH, network visibility, empty miles, equipment type, subhaulers, network synergies, backhauls, load factors, Etc.
- Ability to write and present a PIP plan for anyone underperforming.
- Quarterly 1 on 1 meetings with performance reviews
- Develop strategies with Central Dispatch, eliminating the need to post all our business.
- Breakdown current processes and help improve as we continue to grow
- Create and manage a Driver level detail, carrier suspension notes and Carrier DNU list with notes.
- Grow the usage and number of carriers using Marketplace
- Manage all the tools within BI and train all reps to be fluent as well.
- Hold the reps accountable with the carrier ops reps fulfilling their daily responsibilities with no outstanding issues by EOD.
- Manage the team reps PTO, Concerns, Misc items.
- Growing Profile development and Reporting
- Learn to accept loads in marketplace
Preferred Qualifications
- Bachelor’s Degree
- 1+ Years Industry Experience
- 1+ Years Operation Experience
- Analytical, Problem Solving, and Organizational Abilities
